Invention relates to a material and method for producing hollow building blocks with enhanced thermal insulation properties. The material is obtained from clay-water suspension by adding mechanically activated peat or sapropel and gas forming components like dolomite and acetic acid as well. The material is prepared by making suspension of ingredients and their foaming in mixer-dispergator with cavitation effect under pressure. Compressed air is supplied to the mixer.
