Technological Limitations Influence on Value of Objective Function of Electric Power System Optimisation Task

This work is intended to make clearer limitations influence on the objective (welfare) function, which is defined by the bids of consumers and generators, and some pricing aspects in competitive energy market. For illustration, a specific EPS was used. The calculations have shown that, taking into account the technological limitations, the generators of cheap electric power should sometimes be off-loaded, the generators of more expensive electric power to be used instead. As a result, in different nodes of a power system differing prices could form. The objective function also will be affected by technological limitations.
