In paper the analysis of service life 110 kV transformers of the Latvian Power Company for 2009 is carried out and the forecast on 2016 is executed. Technical measures to increase the reliability of functioning of the transformer equipment are considered. This task is solved under the conditions of deficit of the investments in the Latvian Power Company. The generalized and particular technical and economic models for measures’ estimation are given. The total annual discounted costs for transformer whole life cycle are offered as the objective function to estimate measures on updating and equipment modernization
