This article shows classification possibilities of electrical converters by various criteria's. The energy converters such as rectifiers, inverters, DC converters and frequency converters are classified. The article has the table of summary where is showed the Information on energy converters and its using in the electrical system and various controllers. In conclusion this article introduces the matrix converter of high power and also with the new VSR solution for transfer of electrical energy in the long HV DC line. The article summary comprises general idea on the main converters of electrical equipment.
