Power System Management, Optimization, and Risks
2011
Jānis Gerhards, Anatolijs Mahņitko, Boriss Papkovs

The textbook reflects the traditional and the new information management technologies, which are used for optimizing the regimes in large EES. Optimization criteria are displayed in both the traditional vertically integrated energy, as well as industries which operate in a competitive environment. Algorithms are described in the electricity consumer unit pricing and loss distribution among the entities in a competitive market. Optimization issues are addressed from the linear and nonlinear programming positions, taking into account all types of technological and system limitations. Approach is formulated in order generator power reserves, and pricing. The included material about risky situation for formulating foundations, subject to market conditions. It is shown that in the beginning stage of the energy market risky subject filing is possible to identify more possible potential risks, evaluate their impact, provide for the protection of ways to reduce the occurrence of the consequences of early decisions by the the risk management stage in technological, economic and administrative hierarchy. Each chapter also gives examples of calculations and illustrates the theoretical material. The book may serve as a textbook for the power engineering students and doctoral students, as well as engineers,, who acquire knowledge, to become the power industry professionals.
