Abstract Personalized adaptive learning requires corresponding tutoring system to manage learning content from heterogeneous resources, student preferences and curriculum data. The paper deals with the concept of adaptive learning in Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITSs). The architecture and technologies of ITSs does not provide sufficient modularity and flexibility for different learning technology and platform integration into ITSs. An algorithm for adaptive learning material presentation to student and ITS prototype is proposed.
