The AC electric field effect on biomass gasification, combustion of volatiles and composition of emission is experimentally studied with the aim to provide control of the biomass gasification and combustion of volatiles. The AC field effect on the swirl flame characteristics was investigated at different stages of the formation and burnout of volatiles, different AC power levels and current of AC oscillations. The results have been analyzed with estimation of the possible mechanism of the AC field effect on the combustion characteristics.
