Today there are many problems (issues) in the shipping, to study and solve them modern technologies could be used, but the experience with their usage is not sufficient yet. One of the instruments, that has proven it’s efficiency in the world is the methodology of Quality Function Deployment – QFD. This Paper explores the substance of the QFD, historical and thoughtful evolution, the tendency of QFD development and usability in the future, as well as the experience with usage QFD in the world and Latvia, drawing special attention to the shipping. The results of this research can be used in the shipping companies and organizations to achieve and process the data on customer’s demands in respect of the service provided.
