Investigation of Spectrally Efficient Transmission in Mixed WDM Systems
Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS 2012): Proceedings 2012
Vjačeslavs Bobrovs, Aleksejs Udaļcovs, Iļja Trifonovs

The authors have investigated the minimal allowed channel spacing for developed mixed wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems in order to obtain the maximum spectral eficiency for system's channels. These fiber optic transmission systems can be considered under the concept of next generation optical networks and is offered as a model for the future design of backbone optical networks.
