This thesis is devoted to the experimental research of elementary dynamic hologram recording and to the research of their properties in two- and four- wave mixing geometry as well as to the identification of the relevant photoinduced processes in a-As2S3 chalcogenide and various azobenzene compound films in the red spectral region. It is proven that efficient hologram recording using focused sub-band gap red light in a-As2S3 films is possible and that properties of this recording differ from the properties of bandgap light recording and from unfocused sub-band gap light recording. Sub-band gap light recording mechanisms are proposed. The recording efficiency in azobenzene compounds is found to depend on the chromophore bonding type to the matrix, chromophore concentration, and recording light intensity. The possibility of efficient surface relief grating recording in stilbene azobenzene compounds in the red spectral region is experimentally proven showing the possibility of red light trans-cis photoisomerization. It is also found that recording efficiency in stilbene azobenzene compounds is a nonmonotonic function of the sample age. Studied materials are compared according to the experimental data and in the context of literature. The work consists of 154 pages with 71 figures and 12 tables. It includes an introduction, 12 chapters and a summary with conclusions. The first six chapters are survey of the literature.
