Export Dependency of Latvia’s Manufacturing Sector

Dependence on export markets of the manufacturing sector is a topical and significant issue, as on average more than 60% of manufacturing production is exported. The aim of the paper is to estimate the current export dependency of the manufacturing sector and detect the most export-oriented sub-branches. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods as well as analytic method have been used in the research. On the basis of the analysis, it is concluded that average export dependency of the manufacturing sector has gradually and continuously increased since 2008; it is also concluded that export dependency of sub-branches of the manufacturing sector significantly vary.
