In this paper the influence of geometry of permanent magnets and their basic parameters on the 1st harmonic of the magnetic flux in the air gap of the brushless DC motor are researched. The methodology of the brushless DC motor analysis is considered using functional relations. The paper includes the description of analysis methodology implementation stages: planning of computer experiments; its realization with computer software based on finite element method; functional relations synthesis on the basis of computer experiments results; evaluation of electrical motor effectiveness by means of functional relations.
