The dynamic development of market relations in power industry and input of renew-able sources lead to a signifi-cant wider spectrum of realized steady states and also to a change and development of the network topology. In the new conditions there is an actual necessity for an express evaluation of static stability of complex power systems. The authors offer an algorithm for obtaining a high order char-acteristic polynomial with the subsequent analysis of its roots without use of standard stability criteria such as “Hurwitz”, “Rauss” etc. It can become a basis for creation of new, less labor-consuming criterion of static stability at large scale power systems.
