This paper describes the development of versatile data logger capable to acquire 0..10 V and 4..20 mA analogue signals and store on micro SD card, which is formatted into FAT file system. Two versions of data logger designs are developed – first solution consists of separate integrated circuits, second – contains single microcontroller capable to run same functions. Both projects are compared by various factors, like design complexity, energy consumption and economical aspect. The data logger’s firmware functions are presented and development of corresponding software is discussed.
