Evaluation of the quality of the flame retard combat individual protection system (FR CIPS) was performed on the different layering combination representing actual clothing systems. Following level of compliance of the FR CIPS quality of maximum layering thermal resistance Rct = 3.68 clo complying with the requirements of the climatic category C0-C1 according to NATO AECTP-230 “Climatic conditions” [1] and ISO 11079:2008 [6] from area temperature –60C until –320C range of the thermal resistance required up to 3 clo. Full range of the thermal resistance FR CIPS covering Rct is 0.07 until 3.68 clo. Water vapour resistances identified within range of 5.1 until 58.6 m2Pa/W, water vapour permeability index imt identified within range of 0.09 until 0.81. Results of the FR CIPS evaluation were compared with recent similar research on not-FR CIPS, identified thermal resistance Rct range of 0.16 until 3.52 clo, Ret range 4.2 until 58.5 m2Pa/W, imt range 0.05 until 0.65 depend on layering. Future work plan was established on increasing quality level of FR CIPS to be compatible with C2-C4 climatic category
