PhD thesis "Research of the pump with rotary permanent magnets for transportation of liquid metal." was developed to improve the pumping calculation methodology and empirically test the electromagnetic induction pumps with rotating permanent magnet parameters and their correlation with the theoretical evaluation. Starting from early 1990ties, due to the sufficiently strong permanent magnet industrial production launch, electromagnetic induction pumps with rotating permanent magnets became actual. Currently, pumps are used for pumping liquid metals for experimental purposes and metallurgy because of its simple construction. They are safe and work with a sufficiently high efficiency. Until now, induction pumps with rotating permanent magnet are relatively little studied, only small flowrate pumps are made therefore they were chosen for this thesis. Its operating range is directly dependent on the structural parameters of the pump. Mathematical models for magnetic induction distribution at the pumps air gap calculation, pumps P (Q) curves calculation by taking into account the imbalance of magnetic induction distribution along the channel width were developed in this work. Using one-dimentional turbulence model speed profile and its effect on pump P (Q) curves calculations were carried out. Special experimental circuit filled with low temperature (283K) InGaSn eutectic melt for disc type induction pump test was created. Main pump parameters - pressure and flowrate and efficiency was measured. Experimental data was compared with theoretical calculations to evaluate models adequacy for such pumps magnetic systems calculation. The work was performed at Riga Technical University and Institute of Physics of University of Latvia. The paper consists of 4 chapters and its volume is 131 page, which contain 70 files, 7 tables and 4 appendixes. The paper used in the literature is 60.
