This paper describs the development tendency of Baltic power system, related to the program of the European Union (EU) to improve the security of energy supply, competitiveness and improve the development. Creation of Baltic electricity market have several advantages: highly developed interconnections between the countries, good cooperation and coordination among transmission system operators and the awareness of the benefits of a common market.
