A new design of a segment-shaped outer-rotor synchronous reluctance motor is investigated in this paper. The influence of stator outer diameter, rotor’s segments thickness and overlap angle on the static electromagnetic torque per unit volume is analyzed. In order to obtain recommendation concerning the optimal design of the studied reluctance motor the metamodels are synthesized on the basis of the results of numerical experiments. The numerical experiments are realized by means of finite element method using software QuickField.
