Wireless sensor networks are utilized in many fields of specialization. For instance, in medicine, military, security and control related fields. Wireless sensor networks may work as isolated network as may be incorporated into other networks. In the thesis a two-layer wireless sensor system's network architecture had been proposed. The system is considered to be utilized in the existing TCP/IP networks with an ability to organize a collision-free communication on wireless sensors' layer. Moreover it has been compared with some existing similar systems. As a result it has been shown that existing systems doesn't comply with projected constraints. At the first layer a clustered wireless sensor network is distributed. Under responsibilities of the first layer is to maintain a collision-free communication between sensor nodes. In the thesis a collision-free wireless sensor network specific MAC protocol has been proposed. As addition to MAC protocol an autonomous clustering algorithm has been proposed, too. Due to collisionfree feature the designed MAC protocol has deterministic nature that enables its possibility to be used in real time tasks. Different MAC protocols with clustering algorithms had been compared with the proposed approach. As a result it has been stated that none of compared protocols and algorithms comply with all projected MAC protocol constraints. Second system's layer is designed to be an exit point into other networks. The entry point is provided for each cluster of the first layer by means of gateway nodes. Gateways implement a designed transport protocol for data transportation from sensor network to the main computer, as well as configuration and maintaining of clusters. One of the main gateway abilities is a support of multiple clusters in terms of other gateways' outage. The proposed system has been design using SysML and building a model corresponding to the architecture. As well in the thesis a design methods for both first and second layers of the system has been proposed. Moreover a statistical model of the system is proposed and its usage is discussed in case of hardware selection and prognosis of a performance of the system. The work consists of introduction, 6 chapters, conclusions and 3 appendixes. It contains 209 pages, 48 figures, 14 tables and 133 references.
