Automatically Guided Transport Systems – Tram Model
2005
Ojārs Krūmiņš, Leonīds Ribickis, Ivars Raņķis

In this technology overview automatically guided tram system for usage in street traffic is proposed. Solution is based on Drive-by-Wire interconnection between functional modules. Functional modules are dedicated for traffic safety, motion comfort and schedule control. Standalone module is dedicated for air conditioning and internal lighting. Motion support system block diagram and basic algorithm is given. System implementation improvements in traffic safety are calculated. An example of "Advanced View" system implementation for safety improvement is given. Calculations for traffic timing with such system are made on example of tram route Nr. 6 in Riga.
