The event "Dabas koncertzāles" (Nature Concerthall) is organized with the goal to increase public understanding of the conservation and management of EU protected biotops. The ambient music performance is designed through a fusion of science and art where researches, musicians, poets, photographers and film professionals prepare a uniform event which each year is dedicated to a different topic and species. In order to define the actual impact this event has in reaching its goal - increasing public awareness on nature protection, a survey was conducted among audience members. The results show that the event does indeed secure some progress in raising public awareness with a particular influence on educational professionals.
