The coming Galileo and GPS III full operation capacities are highly promising for broad opportunities to use the applications of GNSS technologies for various studies of environment using precise point positioning static and real time kinematic methods. For normal height determination purposes more and more arising requirements for the high precision detailed geoid model. The need for improved national geoid model is an urgent topic in the solid Earth geodetic studies at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, University of Latvia.
