Energy savings play a significant role in nowadays European political and economical decisions. Street lighting system is a vital necessity for each city, but it consumes a lot of electrical energy to produce light, therefore energy saving is a topical problem in this case. Article gives an overview of European Framework project called LITES [1,2] main results, describing the intelligent street LED lighting system technology architecture developed and focusing on energy saving real life experimental results at Riga Pilot Site.
