During the past thirty years, world ecnomy has developed rapidly. For this reason, translation plays a more important role in promoting communication with other countries under the influence of global economic development. Nowadays, a lot of texts in economics were translated into Latvian as materials applied for higher education. The translation of economic theories is of significance to those who want to study; therefore, to overcome potential challenges translators need to acquire relevant translation skills, summarise characteristics of economic texts and analyse the translation strategies. At present, translators should not only have profound skills in both languages and rich experience in translation, but also must know a lot about history, economy, business, politics, current affairs, literature and art due to the interdisciplinary character of the field of economics.
