In the work, a water wettability of the valorisated lignocellulosic microparticles from aspen sawdust and the recycled polypropylene based composites filled with these particles has been studied. For valorisation, the sawdust was treated by milling, acid hydrolysis and ammoxidation. Contact angle (advancing and receding) measurings as well as a calculation of adhesion energy for both the lignocellulosic particles and the composites were based on the results obtained using the Washburn and Wilhelmy methods. It was found that the valorisation of the sawdust decreased the water wettability of the prepared wood-polymer composites and increased their mechanical properties.
