In terms of the advances in photo-voltaic material research, solar (PV) panel price reduction over last years, the usage of this alternative energy source and the angle of slope of PV panels towards the horizon in Northern countries seems more attractive. Namely, the usage of the angle of slope of PV panels control or optimization devices can help use the solar power more efficiently and smarter. The paper deals with the optimization of suggested solar panel array of renovated residential building's communal lighting in Riga, applying storage devices and demand side management of the produced power.
