The hydrogeological model (HM) of Latvia LAMO for the active groundwater zone provides information on geometry and permeability of geological strata, on groundwater heads and flows, on interaction between groundwater bodies and surface water sources (sea, lakes, rivers, meteoric water).LAMO runs in environment of the licensed system Groundwater Vistas 6 (GV). To create HM, the GV system must be supplied by digital maps of thickness m and permeability k of the strata to be simulated (m –maps and k – maps). In Latvia, geological strata include m0 areas where they do not exist (m = 0). Obtaining of the k – maps is troubled by the m0 areas. To calibrate HM, the k maps have to be adjusted. The latest LAMO4 version presents the k – map as a product that includes independent factors. They accounts for specific features of aquifers and aquitards and ease troublesome impact of the m0 areas. It is explained how the k – maps for the LAMO4 have been created.
