Abstract The paper discusses the main indicators of the quality of electricity (frequency and voltage), determining the balances of active and reactive power in the EPS. The analysis of the dependence of the quality of electricity on changes in the generated and consumed power has been done. The deterioration of technical and economic indicators of EPS and PSS when there is a deviation of electricity from its nominal values is observed. The task of ensuring the level of consumer reliability is proposed to be solved in several stages, the implementation of which is possible only under complex organizational and economic development. At the same time, the reliability of power supply to consumers should be considered as a commodity that should be paid at the market price and as an obligation of the EPS to its customers.
