Currently the world is experiencing a rapid increase of total amount of transmitted data, and it is expected that it will increase more than two times up to 2022 in comparison to 2019, achieving 77 exabytes (77 × 1018 bytes) per month [37]. The increased demand of mobile communications consumers on services in the mobile environment with high data rate, as well for development of new radiocommunication technologies will require more spectrum to be available in the future. Also for expanding of existing radiocommunication technologies will be needed additional frequency resources. For providing mobile communications services in a wide territory the smooth radio coverage is needed, this can be achieved by using lower frequencies, especially frequencies below 1 GHz. The main aim of the thesis is to assess the frequency band 694–790 MHz (700 MHz) use prospect for wireless communication systems. In the thesis analysed different aspects of spectrum management, addressed electromagnetic compatibility evaluation methods for wireless communications systems, provided electromagnetic compatibility evaluation between different radio communication systems in 700 MHz band and in adjacent channels, analysed radio wave propagation in 700 MHz band, as well as developed recommendations for frequency channel arrangement for 700 MHz band. The radio frequency spectrum is a limited resource, a national treasure, that will become increasingly precious in the future.
