Two Trolleybus Motion Modeling by Calculating Transmission Loss Compensation Currents

This paper describes a new approach of performing computer simulations of the motion of two trolleybuses connected to the same overhead catenary section without the use of transmission resistance-simulating resistors. During the simulations, a specific method is used to calculate the currents that are needed to compensate the transmission losses, the corresponding formulas of which were derived. Comparison simulations were performed for both the model with the resistor subsystem and the model with the new algorithm, the results of which confirmed the correctness of the new method.
