This article presents the perspective of the use of crumb rubber (CR) from the end-of-life tyres in dense-graded asphalt mixtures by the wet process high viscosity and a dry process in which the purpose of CR was to substitute aggregates. For the wet process CR modified binder was produced by adding 25% of rubber by the mass of the neat bitumen. Added CR content in the dry process was 41% by the mass of neat bitumen. The mixture made by dry process showed a weak internal cohesion and consequently poorer mechanical properties as reference mixtures. On the other hand, the mixture made by the wet process showed significantly better low-temperature and fatigue properties as reference mixtures.
