On the Course «Basics of Astronautics» at the Institute of Aeronautics of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Aeronautics

Since July 2020, Latvia has been an associate member of the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Latvian Space Strategy 2021–2027 has been adopted. F. Canders, one of the space acquisition theorists and pioneers, studied at the Riga Polytechnic Institute (the predecessor of RTU), however, MTAF Aeronautics the institute still does not teach study courses directly related to space acquisition. Therefore, it is proposed to develop the study course "Introduction to Astronautics" or "Basics of Astronautics".
