This paper describes the efficiency of implementation of 3D CAD based timber frame design software SEMA for private house building design. The software provides direct design documentation transfer to CNC based sawmill facilities reducing the amount of required paper documentation. The use of SEMA software for the design and production of prefabricated timber frames allowed reducing the required amount of design blueprint documentation almost ten times for the identical private house project in comparison to conventional design prepared with AutoCAD drawings.
