Development of the Fundamental Subject "Strength of Materials" Using Modern Computer Programs
Izaicinājumi inženierzinātņu augstākajā izglītībā 2021

One of the most important study courses in technical education is "Strength of Materials". Due to the development of computer programs and new technologies, it is necessary to adapt the study course to modern computing technologies based on the finite element model (FEM). Using bars, beams or shells as examples, students are shown the essence of FEM using Solidworks or ANSYS programs, building on the basic concepts of the Strength of Materials course.
