The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU provides for initiatives of 7 directives and 4 EU rules in the field of rail transport. The implementation of these legislation includes the transparency and non-discriminatory access of all railway undertakings to rail transport infrastructure, the improvement of rail transport services and the integration of the Ukrainian rail system into the Community rail system. This creates preconditions for switching to the private traction of the train.
