Quinone-functionalized molecules have a great potential for the construction of organic electrode materials. Additional stabilization of these materials can be provided by the formation of noncovalent interaction network where aminosubstituted quinone derivatives can serve as a platform for investigation. Herein we select pyrido- and pyrimido-[1,2‑a]benzimidazole-8,9-diones for modification with primary amines to explore intra-/intermolecular noncovalent interactions.
