The Doctoral Thesis is focused on developing a prosumer and consumer energy community planning tool and methodology under the proposed peer-to-peer business model. Its main objective is to effectively showcase their economic advantages in Latvia and motivate interest in electricity sharing, thereby making it applicable and useful to electricity users, legislators and policymakers. With the help of various case studies and scenario modelling, the Doctoral Thesis provides recommendations to improve the economic viability and feasibility of energy communities in Latvia.
