The research is carried out in the area of process mining techniques’ application in discrete event simulation (DES). Process mining techniques are used to discover, monitor, and improve processes using real event log data. While DES mimics the operation of a real system. Both process mining and DES use or generate event data, accordingly, could work together to achieve their common goal of improving processes. Process mining techniques both can help gain new insights in the beginning of simulation experiment for input data analysis and in the end for output data analysis. The goal of this paper to define research approach for application of process mining techniques in discrete event simulation through systematic literature review.
