Issues Related to the Term "Neologism"

The lexicography of the Latvian language is actively working on issues related to the research of new words and their inclusion in the electronic version of the "Modern Latvian Dictionary". Looking at these issues in a broader context, it can be concluded that in many parts of the world, work with and research on new words is carried out from different perspectives, so it is important to identify these different practices and theories, providing a comparative insight into the experience of researching new words. The chapter provides a general overview of trends and issues in new word research.
