Guidelines developed by the author for methodological recommendations “Labor protection requirements when organizing and carrying out decontamination works” are intended for the officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service as a teaching tool in the subject “Working with hazardous substances” for the topic “Elimination of the consequences of chemical accidents”. The developed guidelines are necessary for supplementing the internal regulatory act of the State Fire and Rescue Service “Labor protection requirements when eliminating chemical accidents”, which will also be used as a basic planning document when organizing theoretical and practical classes in the territorial units of the State Fire and Rescue Service and conducting student training in Fire Safety and in the Civil Defense College. The developer’s guidelines specify in detail the labor protection requirements when carrying out decontamination works, as well as the organization of the decontamination site, its creation and the safety of the work to be performed. The guidelines describe the specifics of decontamination of evacuees, rescuers, victims, officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service, machinery and work equipment in events with the presence of hazardous substances. During the development of the guidelines, the author evaluates possible hazards that may be encountered by the officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service when organizing and performing decontamination works from the point of view of occupational safety. Empirical research methods were used in the development of theguidelines - analysis of literature sources, survey methods, expert method (interviews with specialists in the research field).
