The review evaluates the collection of Latvian original plays "Cilvēksvelme" (2023). The plays by ten authors analyze the existential conflicts of human life, which arise in the longed-for, hoped-for collision with the harsh reality. Contemporary Latvian playwrights seek answers to the main question of what a person and his life are and how they are influenced by what is happening around them.
