The Thesis provides experimental proof-of-concept for transitioning the lossy mode resonance (LMR) phenomenon from setups using optical fibers and planar waveguides to photonic integrated circuits, representing a previously unattained advancement with the potential capability to integrate this new technology alongside other photonic elements on a single chip. Additionally, the Thesis assesses different polymers for fabricating integrated waveguides customized for LMR applications and introduces an innovative fabrication method for these waveguides.
