Although the available data and statistics clearly highlight the positive impact of national support programs, it is equally important to understand how this process is perceived by the users themselves — those who have installed solar panels and have benefited from support schemes or have independently engaged in microgeneration. What motivates them? What obstacles still exist? And do the current mechanisms truly work in their favor? Answers to these questions are provided by a survey conducted within the framework of the project “Positive Energy Districts Driven by Citizens” (PERSIST). It offers insight into users’ experiences and their evaluation of renewable energy support schemes in Latvia.
