The paper analyses the current-fed full bridge converter (CFFB) as the main power converter used to interface a fuel cell to a DC load. The operation of the converter's equivalent circuits is presented, along with transfer functions for operation at duty cycles in the range from zero to one. The obtained results for different loads demonstrate that the transfer function provides a solid foundation for utilizing the converter in fuel cell maximum power point tracking (MPPT) applications.
