Abstract In the current research polyvinylchloride (PVC)/chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) blends were obtained in a rather wide composition range by using Banbury type mixer. Tensile stress-strain properties, as well as certain rheological and mass transfer characteristics were investigated. The effect of the blend composition on the material properties was evaluated alongside with the effect of the penetrant nature and concentration.
