Sorption properties of rapeseed oil decoloration by-product have been reported. Activated Latvian clay samples have been used for decoloration of rapeseed oil. The obtained by-product contains about 30 – 40% (by mass) of oil after the separation of phases. As a result of by-product thermal treatment the sample series M250, M400 and M600 have been obtained. The numbers indicate the treatment temperature. The composition of the samples is the following: alumosilicate of clays and particularly carbonated rapeseed oil. These two component materials are characterised by remarkable sorption of benzene and methanol.
