With the rapid development of a knowledge society the role of knowledge management and continuing education has attained an increasingly significant role as catalysts for enterprise capacity building. The introduction of knowledge management and continuing education at the work-place are the result of a paradigm shift that defines approaches towards business activities. Businesses have learned that progress and development depend upon the principles and methods generated by enterprise capacity building to which knowledge 9 management and continuing education are closely linked. Continuing education can play a vital role in disseminating and advancing knowledge management principles at the workplace. In light of the relevance of these issues, the authors have developed a continuing education learning initiative suitable for enterprise development in economically strategic areas. The article describes the authors’ approaches for introducing and implementing continuing education initiatives modeled on knowledge management principles. The project was funded by the European Structural Fund.
