The Improvement of Buildings’ Energy Efficiency in Latvia

This article gives a brief outlook to the already gained experience in the improvement of buildings’ energy efficiency in one of ECOLISH project’s pilot locations – Ogre town in Latvia. Ogre has a population of 26,640 people and 25% of the population lives in privately owned houses. The pilot area in Ogre town includes 10 residential buildings in Sunu Street 1 and 3, Turkalnes Street 1, 1a, 3, 5, 9 and 13 and Zaku Street 2 and 3 with total number of apartments - 238. These buildings were built according to standard soviet typical projects. Two main buildings’ series were chosen for the purposes of ECOLISH project: 103 and 318 series
