Imitation Modelling of Processes of a Coal Terminal

A transport junction is a complex system where multimodal transportation processes and different kinds of transport interaction take place. Solving specific tasks analytically does not ensure a full imitation of the processes. Development of a simulation model is necessary to evaluate the quality of service within export-import cargo shipments at the transport junction. Observing one of the partial elements of the Free Port of Riga – coal terminal – processes were investigated and the process simulation was performed to bring out functional features.
