Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Electrical and Control Technologies (ECT2007) 2007
Jēkabs Barkāns, Diāna Žalostība

This paper explains in summary form the causes of the initiation of the blackout and proposes new technical measure – the power system preventive optimal short-term sectioning further followed by automatic restoration of the operating condition. That helps to avoid a development of the power system collapse. Emphasis is placed on the successfulness of the synchronization process as the main stage of power system unity restoration.
